Programs and Services

Seniors Resource Centre connects seniors and their families to resources and programs supporting independence, connection, and well-being in Salmon Arm. We are powered by volunteers with a passion to make a difference in the lives of seniors and their families.

Income Tax

Trained volunteers help people with limited incomes and uncomplicated tax returns. FREE service offered in March and April.

Foot Care

Qualified personnel certified in taking special care of your tender tootsies with a smile! Nail cutting, skin treatment, foot massage.

Medical Drives

Rides provided to medically related appointments only. Please call the Centre at least three business days in advance.

Day Away

Geared for seniors looking for increased socialization, exercise, and sense of community. Thursdays or Fridays, 9:30 am -1:30 pm. Minimal cost of $6.00.

Monday Market

For independent seniors who may need assistance while shopping.  Seniors can be picked up by HandyDART and go to Askew’s to shop for groceries.

Better Meals

Frozen, nutritious, well-balanced 3-course meals are available at our Centre. Specialized menus also for  minced, diabetic or low sodium meals.

Downtown Salmon Arm

The Salmon Arm Resource Centre is located on the lower floor of Dr. Chu’s dental office, beside Fletcher Park. We do endeavour to keep one parking space clear in front of our entrance for clients. Our address is: 320 2 Ave NE, Salmon Arm, BC V1E 4P9.

Seniors Resource Centre

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Seniors Resource Centre Society is:

• To involve seniors in improving the quality of their lives.

• To support senior members of our community to maintain their independence by providing them with information, resources, services, and programs.

• To utilize a volunteer workforce and recognize their essential value as a part of our organization.

• To cooperate with other community agencies in furthering supports to seniors.

Volunteer Opportunities

Programs and Services

Volunteers are a crucial part of the Salmon Arm Seniors Resource Centre. Our volunteers are part of a community initiative to increase quality of life by building community capacity and helping to reduce isolation and vulnerability for seniors in Salmon Arm and our surrounding area.

With flexible schedules and time commitments to suit your needs, there are many ways to be involved in your community.

Ways you can help include:

  • Front Desk Reception (3 hour shifts AM or PM)
  • Medical Drivers (Vehicle Expenses Reimbursed)
  • Social Volunteers (Day Away Program)
