Tax Returns
Trained volunteers help people with limited incomes and uncomplicated tax returns. This is a FREE service. Volunteers are available for this service during March and April. Please let us know if you can volunteer this year.

Foot Care
Foot Care is an essential part of your overall health and well being. Our Foot Care nurses are certified to provide diabetic foot care, corn and callus reduction, nail trimming, and foot rub. Foot care is offered at the Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by appointment only. Please call the Centre to book your appointment.
$45 cash or cheque
Better Meals
A supply of frozen, nutritious, well-balanced 3-course meals is available at our Centre. Drop by to pick up specialized menus for minced, diabetic or low sodium meals. Call Better Meals at 1-888-838-1888 to place an order and pay for in-town delivery or out of town folks can get their order delivered to us for pickup.
Daily limit of 5 at the Seniors Resource Centre.

Day Away
This health and wellness program is geared toward seniors who are looking for increased socialization, exercise, and sense of community. Participants meet Thursdays or Fridays, 9:30-1:30pm, for companionship, hot lunch, and a variety of activities including games, crafts, brain activities, and music. For more information, please contact Mary, our Day Away Coordinator. You can apply to HandyDART for transportation to the program.

Morning Market
For independent seniors who may need assistance while shopping. Seniors can be picked up by HandyDART and taken to Askew’s to buy their groceries. Volunteers are on hand to assist seniors with their shopping and carrying the groceries into their home. Enjoy coffee and cookies after shopping, compliments of Askew’s! Round trip transportation by HandyDART is available for $3.50. Phone 250-832-7000 to register. Must apply to HandyDART for drive service.

Medical Drives
Rides provided to medically related appointments only. Please call the Centre at least three business days in advance. Ask about the cost for these trips.

Friendly Check-in
Three mornings per week, a volunteer is available to make a friendly phone call to shut-in clients. The purpose is to have a brief conversation and ensure the senior is doing well. Call our office at 832-7000 if you or someone you know would benefit from this program.

Caregiver
Support Group
Open to anyone caring for someone with any form of dementia. Group support and care for the Caregiver are the focus of these FREE DROP IN sessions held on the 2nd and 4th Monday each month (except for holidays) from 10–12 at the Centre. NEW MEMORY LOSS Support Group “Forget Me Nots” following Caregivers on second Mondays from 12:30 pm – 2 pm.

Blue Bottle Program
Pick up a free Blue Bottle kit at our centre to put your medical information into. Place the Blue Bottle into your fridge freezer where it is handy for First Responders medical personnel should they be needed at your home.

Home Services
We have a list of people who provide personal home supports such as cleaning, respite, yard work, maintenance, mobile hair care, mobile foot care and other services for a fee. Drop by the Centre or phone for a current list.

Senior Advisor
A trained volunteer works out of the Centre on Wednesdays to help people with government forms and other related issues. By appointment only please, just call the centre at 250-832-7000.
